I remember as a father taking my daughter Natalie swimming. Natalie’s eight now but when she was younger, and not a strong swimmer, I used to encourage Natalie to swim in the pool with me in the deep end. For some reason, she just wanted to stay in the shallow area but being a loving Father I yanked her by the arms and dragged her into the deep end with me. I remember her saying “daddy don’t let me go, daddy don’t let me go”! I would just smile and reassure her that I wasn’t going to let her go. She was safe in my arms and I wasn’t going to let anything hurt her. Today, Natalie is a good swimmer but for her to get to that point, she first had to learn to let go of her fears and trust me to teach her. God our Father is like that with us. He takes us out into the deep waters of life to challenge us and to teach us and He says , “trust me my daughter, trust me my son”, but of course we tend to fear the unknown, it’s uncomfortable for us, and we want to go back to the shallow area where it’s safe. But I want to encourage you to let your guard down, to trust and dive in, even if the waters seem so deep and overwhelming and you’re so far from the shore. I just know there is a blessing to be had in all of this. Not a strong swimmer? Dont need to be. Daddy’s with you, He is always with you! Just let go of the swimmies and hold onto Him, He will never let you go! HE WILL NEVER LET YOU GO!!!!!!!
